LECTURE – WEEK 2

DATA TYPES:

There are many different levels of measurement in regards to data types as mentioned in Waterson (2016) which include Nominal, ordinal, interval and ratio data. Each of these types of data represents a different type of measurements with each of them representing something and having their own specific concept. They all work together to gather and share data in an efficient way to the viewer. We can split this information into two categories in regards to measurement and they include ratio and interval data and they are in the numerical section. Ordinal and nominal data are in the categorical section and they are used for counting purposes. Qualitative and Quantitative data are also very important in terms or data collection as qualitative data is mostly used for describing where as quantitative is for numerical section of data.

This chart shows the relationships between data and what it branched out to be connected too and in what categories each concept sits in.
